Conflict minerals
Tin, tungsten, tantalum and gold have been identified as "conflict minerals".
These minerals are needed to make objects we all use every day: mobile phones, tablets, cars, aircraft, light bulbs and many other items in the electrical and electronic equipment category. Some militias and rebel groups finance themselves by selling these minerals.
Electra's goal is to promote responsible sourcing practices among companies that procure tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold from high-risk areas affected by armed conflict, in order to reduce the funding these groups obtain from exploiting local minerals.
At Electra we carry out a careful analysis of our supply chain, ensuring the certified origin of the minerals we use.
